Local One-Sided Rubber Bulging Test to Measure Various Strain Paths of Metal Tube

We proposed a local one-sided rubber bulging method of metal tubes to evaluate various strain paths at an aimed portion and measured the forming limit strains place occurrence necking under biaxial deformation. Using this method, since is used give pressure from inner side tube, no sealing mechanisms were necessary unlike during hydraulic bulging. An opening was prepared in front die locally bulge tube only evaluation portion. To change restriction conditions bulged region for deformation opening, round or square cutout, slit introduced. The test conducted using universal compression machine simple dies rather than dedicated machine. Considering experimental results, it confirmed that path varied by changing position size slits cutouts. either cutout slit, can be equi-biaxial tension tension, respectively.
